Today I drove around with Lily running errands and listened to a great little radio station that plays freaking AWESOME music (91.1). Before I get to the point of this blog, I want to demonstrate how awesome this station is. I heard Band Of Horses immediately followed by Okkervil River today. That blew me away! I also had a chance to finally use one of my really cool iPhone apps called Shazam, which listens to your song and tells you what it is! I wanted to know the name of three songs today and it worked with all three. One was by Spoon, one was the Everly Brothers, and one was Old Crow Medicince Show.
So I was driving and I was thinking about that someone that I am missing right now. What song comes on the radio? "Bye Bye Love" by the Everly Brothers. :) It made me smile just because it was nice to hear a song that spoke to me. Later, as I was getting home, I heard a song by Old Crow Medicine Show called Wagon Wheel that I had never heard before. It was wonderful. I do love modern bluegrass music...I guess it was my year in Kentucky! But this song made me cry a little. It just made me think of him, made me miss him, brought about all those emotions that music has a way of triggering. So I bought it in iTunes. It's nice to wallow in those feelings a little bit.
And guess what? They are from Nashville and will be playing here on October 10th. I wish we could go together but it is not meant to be. But I will think about him while I am there.
