I sold something on craigslist

I sold my first thing on craigslist today - Lily's Pottery Barn Kids kitchen set. I had two offers within an hour of putting the listing up. I love technology, and I have been thinking about writing a blog about all the ways technology has changed the way I do things. More specifically, my productivity has increased a great deal due to some cool Firefox add-ons and iPhone apps.
Before the iTunes Apps store opened, I had unlocked my phone and was using third party apps, but they were mostly just fun and games. Once the Apps store opened I upgraded my phone with the latest firmware, which returned the phone to factory settings. I figured I would test out the Apps store and decide whether I still wanted to have an unlocked phone, and I found that the only thing I really missed was the themes (my favorite was Lego Star Wars).
It's been a few weeks now and I love my iPhone more than ever. I am not exaggerating when I say that EVERY DAY I think about how cool this phone is and how much it has infiltrated my life! I Twitter from it, I Yelp from it, I Google from it, I Facebook from it, I Jott from it, I flickr from it, I listen to radio from it, I get my email and surf the web from it. I use it ALL THE TIME. When I first got it I told people that it was the first piece of technology I owned that I felt like I actually utilized to it's full potential because it was so easy to use and understand. And I still feel that way, but the Apps make it ten times cooler.
So here are my favorite apps. They are all free, btw.
1. Twinkle. Twitter app that also shows you people nearby, which is fun (and you can attach pics to your Twinkle updates)
2. AirMe. Photo app that takes pictures and automatically uploads them to your flickr account. Only problem is the orientation of the camera. It's vertical instead of horizontal like the regular iPhone camera.
3. Jott for iPhone. I am a recent convert to Jott, which creates to-do lists, reminders, text messages, and emails from your voice when you call in to Jott, or with the iPhone app, when you tap on the screen and start recording. I have had some funny moments with mis-understood translations from voice to text, but it's mostly because I always have so much background noise in the car or I am not speaking very clearly. I use Xpenser and Remember the Milk in conjuction with Jott. Xpenser is basically a checkbook register. Every time I spend money, I call Jott and record the expense, and it shows up online on Xpenser, where I can create expense reports for all my different bank accounts. I also get an email and text confirmation of every Jott I record. I use Remember the Milk to create my to-do lists. I can Jott RTM and it adds it to my RTM account, which also shows up as a sidebar in Gmail thanks to a Firefox add-on called Better Gmail 2. Jott and RTM also appear on my iGoogle home page.
4. Yelp. I am new to Nashville and have no idea where the good places to eat are. Thanks to Yelp, I can find places no matter where in the city I am, as it uses a locator function to find places near you. You can read other people's reviews, see exactly how far away it is, and the address and phone number.
5. Pandora and last.fm. Two cool internet radio apps. I love that last.fm plays recommendations for me and has a link for me to buy the tune from the iTunes store.
6. Page Once. You can keep all your bank accounts and bills on one page, easily accessible and linked. I am still getting to know this app, but so far I like it. They need to get more companies signed up, though.
7. Facebook. It's just a lot easier to to click on the Facebook icon than to go to Safari and type in the address. Same goes for the Google app.

I also recently started using Mobile Me, which synchs my iPhone with my email, address book, and iCal on my Mac. Instead of having to plug my phone into my computer to synch, it is done automatically over the air. Not sure if it is worth 99 bucks a year, but we'll see!
I am also trying to decide on a budgeting app, but I can't seem to pick one since they all seem to be pretty good.
Overall, I am totally thrilled with how my phone has allowed me to become more organized and less stressed out. Yay!

Damnit you're making me want an iPhone! I can't get work email from it tho -- which is the big thing stopping me.
